Billiard Cue Sticks
It is in your billiard cue sticks, where your game, as a pool player or otherwise, is based. Your particular model should be a very well cared for piece of sporting equipment just like any other. Even though you don’t go out into a field or other harsh environment with your unit, doesn’t mean it does undergo a fair amount of wear and tear as you play game after game. Keeping your own cue is an important way to improve your game and your wins.
Perhaps you don’t already own your own cue. For most, using the sticks at the hall or bar is okay, but many people don’t know how important their cue is to their game. You may be able to line up your shots, predict the ricochet accurately, and observe your opponents game, but if you can’t physically make all your brilliant mental shots happen, then it really doesn’t matter how good your are in your head. You cue is the communicator between your mind and the balls, so you want that communication to be accurate. Broken tips, unbalanced shafts, and poor sizing are just a few of the problems when using a cue that isn’t your own. Purchasing a model for yourself, immediately rids you of all of these problems and allows you to focus more on your game.
When purchasing, shop around. There are loads of manufacturers out there and you should get a feel for as many as possible. Try other people’s cues, if they’ll let you, and ask around. What others like, may not be your thing, so take your time. If in the end you don’t get a perfect model, there’s no shame in having two. Right?
